Prime Edition for Mercedes C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY

Beginning in 2008, this new four-cylinder diesel engine will replace four of the existing diesel engines at Mercedes-Benz. It can be installed either longitudinally or transversely in various models, and several power rating variants will be available. In addition to the C-Class, the engine will also be available in the E-Class, new GLK-Class and in the future E?Class Coupé.

The C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY features optimized body aerodynamics seen particularly in the exterior-mirror housings as well as smooth under body cladding, low rolling resistance tires and adaptive energy efficient power steering pump. As a result, the C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY consumes an average of 5.2 liters of fuel per 100 km (NEDC), with CO2 emissions of 138 g/km. Furthermore, the C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition displays in the instrument cluster the optimal time to shift for maximum fuel savings. The precise current fuel consumption is also displayed.

Mercedes has announced an all-new 2.2 litre diesel engine which will be unveiled in the C-Class as the C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition. This engine produces 150 kW / 204 hp and 500 Nm of torque and can accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h in just 7.0 seconds, top speed of 250 km/h. With numbers like these, the C 250 CDI is positioned as a sensible alternative to a six cylinder engine.

Production of the C 250 CDI BlueEFFICIENCY Prime Edition is limited to 5000 units at EUR 40,638.50 (including VAT).More Photos
